Tanya's Approach

Tanya has a gentle approach and believes in understanding each client’s unique story, meeting each person where they are at, and allowing space and balance in order to foster change toward their optimal life.

 

Tanya is able to provide therapy in French.


Tanya works from a holistic approach and incorporates various client centered treatment modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-based methods and motivational interviewing techniques.

Tanya specializes in working with adults (18yrs +) who live with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Mood disorders
  • People who are experiencing grief due to loss
  • Significant life changes or interpersonal issues
  • Caregivers and others experiencing burnout


Although everyone’s life circumstances are vastly different, Tanya believes that everyone has the capacity to live their most optimal life providing they are offered the opportunity to feel heard and the necessary tools to make positive changes.

Education & Training

Tanya has been a Registered Social Worker for 15 years, focusing her entire career in mental health. Her clinical experience has ranged from providing individual therapy through a Family Health Team, as well as working with individuals with severe-persistent mental illness in hospital and community settings.  Tanya currently works for a specialty mental health hospital providing community-based treatment for people experiencing a variety of mental health challenges.

Tanya holds the following degrees:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Gerontology
  • Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Work. 

Tanya has additional training in the following treatment modalities:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Brief Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing

Additional Information

When she is not working, Tanya enjoys spending time on Georgian Bay, riding her bike, doing yoga, and cooking and most of all enjoys spending time with her children, family and friends.

 

Tanya is also a published author of a children’s book related to separation anxiety.   

 

Fees

$140.00 per 60 minute session

All session fees are prorated based on the length of the session
